Parking spaces are marked for use. Parking is not permitted in any area other than the marked spaces. Vehicles illegally parked will be towed at the owner’s expense. Vehicle service or repair work, other than emergency restart or removal of a vehicle, is not permitted in the parking lot at any time. There is a parking pass system in effect. See the front desk or Colony Cove office.

Cable Television

The association has a satellite system providing television service. There are no additional costs for this service, as it is provided as part of the commons fees. The channels available are chosen by resident owners.

Trash Disposal

St Croix is a warm and often humid environment. As a result, proper storage of all food items and garbage disposal is imperative. Vermin (rats), insects (sugar ants) and cockroaches can be especially destructive.

All garbage should be disposed of on a regular basis. Dumpsters are located in the rear of “A” building and at the front entrance to the facility. When departing, please dispose of all garbage. At no time should it be left outside of your unit.

We recommend that you use tight sealing plastic containers to store food such as sugar, flour cake mixes etc. Leaving these items in their original container attracts Sugar Ants. Once established, they are very difficult to get rid of.

Water

Water is a precious commodity on the island, and everyone is encouraged to be conservative in their use of it. The tap water is safe for drinking and tested monthly.

Rainwater collected from the roofs of buildings, is transported by gutters and downspouts to cisterns beneath those buildings. When needed, additional water is purchased from our local utility known as WAPA.

The swimming pool uses a combination of rain water and cistern water. The pool has a unique salt system to keep the water clean and at the proper PH level. On rare occasions of high usage we must supplement the system with chlorine.

Power & Emergency Generator

Power on the island is a precious commodity and everyone is asked to be conservative in their use of this expensive resource. Turn off lights, air conditioners and other electrical devices when you leave your unit or aren’t using them. Power to Colony Cove is supplied by WAPA (Water and Power Authority).

In the event of a power outage from WAPA, Colony Cove has a standby emergency generator. During a WAPA power outage, the generator automatically starts and provides power to the office facilities, security lighting and water pumps. The generator does not have the capacity to power the entire complex.

Sewer System

Our sewer waste generated at the complex is pumped up to the mail road to be processed. It is imperative that only human waste and toilet paper be flushed down the toilet. Do NOT flush diapers, wipes, or feminine products.
